4. Accelerated Reader tests can be accessed in the Library Media Center (LMC) and classrooms. Each school day from 7:15 AM o 7:45 AM, students may come to the LMC for AR tests with a parent/guardian or a pass from their homeroom teacher. On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons from 2:15 to 3:15, students may come to the LMC for AR tests with a parent/guardian.
5. It is acceptable to take a test on a book someone has read to a student, provided the student is able to take the test independently.
6. Points are awarded according to the number of correct responses and the readability level of the book.
7. Accelerated Reader is an individualized reading program. All students in a grade level may not have the same point requirements to reach their goals. Students are encouraged to work toward their personal goal. This is not a competition between students. It is designed to promote individual success in reading.
Note:
AR books can be identified easily in Destiny, Evansdale's library catalog which is accessible on any internet connected device at http://evansdalees.dekalb.k12.ga.us/MediaCenter.aspx.
Please mark your calendar for the AR cut-off dates for this school year. Each student in 1st through 5th grades who reaches the indicated percentage of his or her goal by these cut-off dates will receive a brag tag the following week.
